I just love weekends when we have no plans! They are so relaxing. Last night we ordered pizza in, and today we went out to eat. We’re just enjoying a fun, carefree, relaxing weekend!

Chase’s Birthday January 4, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — minnyhaha @ 11:35 pm

We celebrated my 2nd oldest nephew’s 20th birthday the other day. His actual birthday was on the 30th, but since we were in Canada for the wedding, we didn’t get to celebrate it with him. So when we got back, we all went to Macaroni Grill for dinner. In addition to celebrating his birthday, he decided to share the news that he is joining the Army. He says that he should start bootcamp sometime in February. So I would like to congratulate him on a big decision. We’re proud of you.

Bill’s Wedding January 3, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — minnyhaha @ 5:06 pm

Bob and I had quite an adventure this week for Bill’s wedding. On the 26th, our flight was delayed 4 hours from Atlanta to Newark, NJ. By the time we got there, we had missed our connection to Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. There is only 1 flight to Moncton from Newark each day, so we were kinda stuck. Bill suggested that we fly into Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and rent a car or catch a train to Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada. Well, by the time we got into Halifax, it was almost 1 am. There were no cars left to rent. So we were kinda stuck in the airport until we hopped on a random bus that took us to a hotel that actually had a room! In the morning we had to take a train ride to Moncton to pick up our rental car so we could actually have a means of transportation once we got to Miramichi. It took us about 5 hours on the train. It was fun to see all the country side. Very pretty and snowy.

On the Train

Once we got to Moncton, we had to take a taxi to the airport due to no buses. On our 2+ hour drive to Miramichi, we ran into a blizzard. It was quite entertaining to listen to the radio announcers say that people shouldn’t be on the road tonight. Bob did all the driving. It was definitely hard to see! Plus there were signs every couple of miles warning about Moose crossing the freeway. So we had to deal with driving in a blizzard at night and watching for moose :)

When we got to Miramichi, the first thing we looked for was a Wal-Mart! I can’t believe that’s what we did, but we were desperate for something to eat and a change of clothes. Did I mention that our suitcases were lost too! The airline drove them out to us the next day. It took us 36 hours to get to from Atlanta to Miramichi. We were very tired when we got in.

The next couple of days was pretty uneventful. Bob had Bill’s bachelor party, where they all wore tuxedo t-shirts that I made and tied a bowling ball around his ankle. Then they took him bowling (Thin Pin Bowling), but first they got kicked out of the Church’s cemetery. haha. I had a relaxing evening of watching tv and eating ice cream.

The wedding went well. Bob spiced up the reception by shaving one of his legs and tying a garter around it. The idea was to blindfold Bill and have him take it off of Bob’s leg. It almost worked, but Bill quickly realized that it wasn’t Bob’s leg. It was so funny to watch!!

After the reception, Bob, Dan, Matt and I piled up into one car, and Bob’s parents, Aunt Leslie, and Nana got into a mini van. Then we began our adventure back to Moncton. We stopped at a Tim Hortons restaurant twice on the way back. Let me tell you about Tim Hortons. Maybe I just had a bad experience, but it wasn’t that good. However, the locals loved it. Give me Starbucks or Panera Bread anyday. These places are everywhere though. It’s like finding a Starbucks in Southern California. They are on every corner.

We got to our hotel around 11pm and got up around 3am to catch our flight to Newark, NJ. We didn’t have any major problems getting back, thankfully.

We got back to our house around 9:30 pm on New Year’s Eve, so our night consisted of us falling asleep on the couch and waking up about 10 mins before the ball dropped. We’re party animals! haha.

So that’s some of our adventure. Not all of it, but I hit some of the highlights. Didn’t want to bore you to much :)

Lots has happened December 28, 2008

Sorry about ignoring my blog for the past couple of months. I guess buying my own practice took up more time than I thought it would. I am enjoying being my own boss. It’s alot to take in and get use to, but it is worth it. Check out my office at www.soddydaisysmiles.com I’m still working on the site. I’d appreciate any input.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Bob and I had all the family over for Christmas eve and spent Christmas day together. We watched Marley and Me. It was good, but it didn’t compare to the book. We are now in Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada for Bill’s wedding. That’s a whole other post about our 33 hour adventure to get here.

I hope all is well.

I will try to blog more often :)

Well, I guess you can tell that I’ve been pretty busy cause I haven’t posted in awhile. I have lots of pictures to upload. I’ll give you a brief idea of what we’ve been upto. Last weekend we went to California to see friends and family (mainly little Sophie’s 1st birthday party), and we went to see Weezer in concert last night! They totally rocked!! Also, I’ve been busy working and buying my own practice. You heard me right. I’m getting my own place!! I will now get a chance to have a say in how I’d like things done, also get a lot of new headaches. I’m sure it will all be worth it. I’ll post more later.

New Job October 4, 2008

I’ve been working in a dental spa since moving to TN, but since the current economy is kinda slow, people aren’t seeking out cosmetic dentistry. I’ve decided to cut back at the dental spa (basically quit) and work at a clinic. They keep me busy there! On thursday I did 19 fillings! For those of you not in the dental world, 19 fillings is alot for 1 week. So I am tired. Plus I am working with mostly kids. Now I feel like I have caught one of their colds. Hopefully I can rest over the weekend.

Car Fixed! October 1, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — minnyhaha @ 12:02 am

My car is fixed. It was the water pump. Since the engine would be half torn apart and my car has almost 90,000 miles, they suggested that the timing belt be changed. So its fixed!! Yea!

Car Problems September 24, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — minnyhaha @ 1:19 am

This morning on my way to work, my car started to buzz at me at the check fluids light came on. I was able to make it to work. On my way home, it had no problems until I got about a mile from my house! The air conditioner was blowing warm air, the car started buzzing again, and the engine overheated. I pulled over to wait for it to cool. It didn’t want to cool down, so Bob had to come to my rescue. He let the pressure out of the coolant container. It started to over heat again on the way home. So when I got it home, I called AAA to tow it to the repair shop. It bugs me cause I just had it in the shop to be serviced!! So I’m driving my mom and dad’s extra car. Hopefully this won’t be an expensive car problem.

Bob and I went to see Liz, Mike, and baby Sophie in Atlanta on Saturday night. They are in from California visiting family, so we drove down to the Cheesecake Factory in Atlanta to see them. We haven’t seen them since we moved in June. Sophie has gotten so big! She is turning 1 in October, and Bob and I are flying out to CA for the big birthday party! We can’t wait to see everyone!!
